doggy dangers

so the police call me out for a dog in a car at the cinema parking lot….WHY would someone take their dog with them, when they are going into an air conditioned theater and its 96 degrees outside? we went into the cinema 8…found the owners….cited them for animal neglect…The lil dog was in heat exhaustion…temp of 104.6 and excessive panting and mms = bright red…The owners were defensive at first, but excepted responsibility, eventually and understood once it was alle xplained out to them…..sigh

huh?

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

It gives me opportunity to visit with good gal pal Sandy and her petting zoo....I hang out with her all eve and then I stay away from the whole place Sat, as much as the job allows me to stay away.

Lonesome Blues

Lonesome Blues
Words & Music by Perry Bradford
Want someone to love me, want someone to hug me now,Want someone to squeeze me, want someone to teach me how,I don't want your money, all I want my honey's you.chorusWoke up this morning feeling awfully blue,Ain't got no one to tell my troubles toThe fortune teller has told me little fellow,That I am lonely, lonely. And I've got those lonesome blues.Look here little daddy how I wish you had me dear,When you're way I'm lonely that is I want you near,Honey please don't leave me you will surely grieve me dear.

drug users/dog thieves

I have been working with local detectives regarding the high rate of dog theft....what Ive concluded is thus: they steal a dog out of your yard and take it to a store parking lot (Wal Mart...K Mart...White Castle...etc..) and sell it as a "rescue animal" for their drug money. Jefferson County is notorious for this....all the meth heads....
If someone is selling dogs in a park lot, you can ask for their State License (which all legitimate rescue groups in MO will have)....you can and SHOULD raise hell with the store/property manager telling them you will not shop at their store if they allow this AND write down license plate of seller and turn over to Dept of Agriculture or local Animal control for investigation. 9 out of 10 have proven to have a looooong drug history.

I went to Beales on Broadway Sat night.....drunk snuck up on me....made a fool of myself with one particular person....I will beat myself up on that for a week or more...I was raised to never forgive myself of my shortcomings and to feel humiliated and ashamed is thE most important....Of course, as Ive grown Ive learned otherwise but the old ways still haunt me. Shame on me for not being perfect or any where near it.

Adopt Me

8 week old female spaniel pup...tan and white speckles....demure and loving and confused...

My first call this morning is "a hawk is caught in the water plant pit and cant get out". It went smooth and without drama....the hawk was soaking wet and therefore could not fly, but the pit was huge (wide) and I provided it a place to sit in the sun and dry and get its composure back so that it could fly off on its own.

tomato pains

My tomatoes keep calling out to me "pick me while green and fry up your mouth watering fried green tomaters!!!!" and I say "no no no not yet...I must first get some tasty red ones and THEN I will pick your plump butt off the vine" and they respond, "you know you want us...you can let the late ones turn red...we are the first of the season and therefore the freshest and sweetest..."
"Stop", I say"leave me alone!!!! you must stop beckoning me with the temptations of the weak flesh and tastebuds."
AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH
life is so freakin difficult!

another Saturday night.........

I try to get out of town once or twice a month. To me, this means checking out which band is playing at one of my 4 favorite clubs in St Louis and then going to all of them....It really is just a matter of the order in which I arrive to each.
This small hick town I reside in has numerous clubs (bars) none of which have live music which is my true purpose in going out to begin with....Oh wait...Im mistaken....there is one band that often plays around town LOL
GEO which is a 50s type music....
ok then

I am such a home body (for real) and whenI work full time I rarely ever want to go anywhere because I get such limited time at home, anyway. I NEVER strived for a career, but settled for one anyway....when I realized that I was always going to have to be working outside the home and was limited in my qualifications and resources and abilities.

My work, in no way, defines who I am as a person.....It has all been a job which I am very good at....I have explored many avenues in the animal field and am eager for the day I will NOT have to do any of it, ever again!!!!!! I, can keep myself QUITE amused and entertained with my interests and hobbies....with my yard and home and arts....and do not, in any way shape or form need a job to fill my time. I have always been a hard worker...LOVE work, HATE jobs!

music slut

One of the few constants in my life have been music….I always remember, being about 10-11 years old…laying in bed (supposed to be going to sleep) turning the radio knob trying desperately to find SOMETHING differant to listen to…It was A.M.. radio at the time and I liked music, but had been disgruntled with the type of music available….I have always been naive in many aspects and no different when young….anyway, I was laying there turning the knobs, keeping it low so mom wouldn’t hear and come in and take radio away and switched over to this F.M. spot and heard…….”The Rolling Stones”….they were my first introduction to rock music. My hips began to shimmy and my toe was tapping and my heart was racing! It was exhilarating and a pivotal change in my life was just ahead….I was no longer “my parents music virgin”….I was a “rocker’….suhweeeeeet
For at least two years, online retailer Amazon has been infamously -- and incorrectly -- touting its "right" to sell materials promoting illegal animal fighting, blatantly peddling dogfighting videos as well as cockfighting magazines like The Gamecock and The Feathered Warrior. These materials are not only offensive because of the cruelty they glorify, but their shipment is also a felony under the recently-enacted Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act. The company's decision to defy the new federal law against the reprehensible practices of dogfighting and cockfighting is reckless.
Amazon is falsely claiming its commercial sale of animal fighting publications is protected by the First Amendment. But these cockfighting magazines are selling fighting birds and cockfighting weapons, and those activities are explicitly outlawed under the new federal law! Amazon even says it is within its rights to sell dogfighting videos -- a practice forbidden under two separate federal laws. The First Amendment does not protect companies from selling illegal contraband, and that's exactly what Amazon is doing.
Dogs and chickens suffer grievous injuries in animal fights produced for depraved fun and shameful profit. Even if you have previously contacted the company, please ask Amazon right now to stop selling animal fighting materials!

This blog thing is new to me...I rarely have time to post anything, but good to know its there when you just want to vent! However, I may need to find a new blog site for the soul purpose of: It occurs to me that I am not anonymous on this site...there are people I actually KNOW that are privy to not only my blog, but my home phone number as well. This is cause for great concern. I am apprehensive of what I write....People who KNOW me are already aware I have this blog thing going.....my daughters may find it and read it....I prefer to think that my daughters are surely not interested in anything I have to say. They have certainly heard all they care to, which explains why they moved away from home and are hardly interested in the ramblings of an elderly woman....>cough< >wheeeeze<

crazy pet people abound....one woman calls to report her Lost Cat....says: "........she has a white spot on back left toe and one extra wisker on the right side of nose...cat has 7 wiskers on one side...8 on the other... and when she gets mad, she lays her ears down like a mountain lion, but when she is happy she walks around like an African lion and when she is asleep she curls up similar to a panther but not quite as large. nShe has a growl that sounds like a Mtn. lion, but etc................."

I listed it as: Lost - gray cat

Im not kidding either

Whats it all about?

Fifty years and my life is still -trying to get up that great big hill of hope, for a destination. I realized quickly as I knew I should, that the world was never this "brotherhood of man" or whatever that means. So, I cry sometimes as Im lying in bed just to get it all out, whats in my head and Im feeling a little peculiar. I wake in the morning and I step outside, I take a deep breath and I get real high (on life) and I scream at the top of my lungs, "Whats goin on?"
